What exactly are permanent cosmetics?
The term `Permanent Cosmetics' refers to a specialised form of cosmetic tattooing which implants completely natural pigments into the skin to create long-term shape and colour. It is specifically designed to enhance the natural features of your face, or to camouflage scars and signs of surgery. The specialised techniques used for permanent cosmetics are also often referred to as Micropigmentation, Permanent Make Up or Dermagraphics.
Is it really permanent?
Technically, permanent cosmetic procedures are considered permanent because coloured pigment is inserted into the dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. Most procedures last two to five years, and some much longer depending on the colour used and the client's individual skin response. To keep your permanent cosmetics always looking fresh and new, Wake Up With Make Up offers each client an optional touch up once every 18 months, at a fraction of the original price.
Does it hurt?
At Wake Up With Make Up Michelle goes out of her way to make sure all her clients are as comfortable as possible. All lip procedures are rendered completely pain free by a dental block administered by a registered dentist, and all other areas worked on are numbed both before and during treatment by specially imported topical anaesthetics. These numbing crèmes and gels are very effective, and most of Michelle's clients experience little or no discomfort.
What does it cost?
Your initial no obligation consultation is provided at absolutely no charge and the exact cost of any procedure you may require will be discussed at that point. Most procedures cost between $340 and $650, and the price includes a complimentary touch up appointment eight weeks after your procedure, ongoing after care advice, and an optional discounted touch up every 18 months. When you consider the time and money you will save from not having to put on make up every morning, and the fact that you are likely to look a lot younger without expensive cosmetic surgery, and be a lot more confident - you have to agree that having a permanent cosmetics procedure at Wake Up With Make Up is well worth the investment.
Does it look natural?
Yes, definitely. Michelle's extensive experience as a regular makeup artist has given her an instinctive feel for what colours and shapes will enhance a person's natural features. You can therefore be confident that your permanent cosmetics will look very natural, and you will be happy with the result.
How long does it take?
Most procedures take around one and a half to two hours - but you will be advised of the exact time it will take during your initial free consultation.
What is involved in the recovery?
There will be slight swelling and redness in the skin, which will subside quickly. You may resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. Complete healing takes one to six weeks while the pigmentation matures and reaches its final colour. Each client is given specific instructions as to the expected healing process of their particular procedure, and after care advice is readily available by phone or email.
How do I care for my permanent cosmetics after I go home?
At Wake Up With Make Up every client is provided with an After Care Kit and detailed written home care instructions, and after care advice is readily available by phone or email.
